Battery Charger
How many Amp of a battery charger do I need to start my battery?
I just got an advise to jump start my battery, my question is what capacity of Amp of the charger do I buy to serve the purpose. Thank you all for the response.
. Best to slow charge first if you have time ….. motorcycle charge @ 2 amp auto charge @ 6 to 10 amp jump start @ 35 to 65 amp only if you have to! Be sure you hook it up correctly … Red is postive side … Black negtive you can also jump start off of another car or truck hooked battery to battery … If you do then make connections to the dead battery first then on the other one hook up the red then the black last … Let the auto run @ idle for awhile to precharge the auto with the dead battery to put a bit of a precharge on it before you attempt to start it. batterys can explode and its quite ugly when it happens . Prevent this by checking fluid levels ( use distilled water to fill) … And proper connections … Wear eye glasses or other protection … They also are filled @ factory with acid … If you get any of it on you make a mix of arm and hammer baking soda and tap water to nuturalize the acid then go wash with good soap and water.
