Samsung digital camera, what am I doing wrong?

I just bought a samsung ES55 digital camera and I can only seem to store 19 pictures on the actual camera. I don’t have a memory card in it but can buy and put one in if needs be. I have reduced the quality of the pics I am taking and put everything that could take up memory to the lowest possible setting. Is this normal because I can’t believe for an £80 camera you would only store 19 pics???? Does this mean a memory card is essential for use?

You’re not doing anything wrong. The internal memory is very small.
Yes you’ll want / need a memory card. It will store far more than the internal.

By the way, read your owner’s manual to learn what size and style of card you need and your camera will support before you go buy.
